Harlon Childres

HARLON DANIEL CHILDRES JUN 15, 1927 - DEC 2, 2008 Harlon Childres passed away in Turlock, on Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Mr. Childres was born to Wesley and Bulah (Crosby) Childres in Seminole, Oklahoma on June 15, 1927. After he was discharge from the Army, at the end of WWII, he moved with his wife to Modesto. Harlon was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #3 for 45 years, working on the San Luis and Don Pedro dams, and the Melones Bridge. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Modesto chapter of the American Legion. He loved fishing and playing golf. Harlon was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Nora I (Wyatt) Childres, in 2002. He leaves behind a brother David Childres of Farmersville, three sons and their spouses, Dan and Kristine of Sonora, Mike and Glady of Turlock and Doug of Delhi, four grandchildren and their spouses, Kellie and Dan Palhegyi of Folsom, Bryan and Tracy Childres, Amanda and Mike Sutton, and Christine Childres of Turlock, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 9th at 2:00 pm at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Hughson.
