Herman Stroud Obituary

Herman Stroud passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Georgetown, Texas, on October 6, 2025. He was 81 years old. Herman was born in Modesto, California, in 1944. He lived in Waterford until he graduated from Oakdale High School in 1962. He honorably served in the Army from March 1967 to January 1969, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He returned to Modesto and embarked on a career at E&J Gallo Winery as a journeyman machinist for 35 years until his retirement. His life was full of friends, loving family, and great neighbors in Turlock where he lived for 38 years before relocating to Texas to be near his son and his family. Herman loved the great outdoors and particularly loved to fish and hunt.

Herman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra, his son, Scott, his daughter-in-law, Talia, his grandkids, Clara and Connor, his siblings, Chuck, Lola, Norma, and Delois. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends. A remembrance of Herman's life will be held at 1716 Anita Court in Modesto, California on November 15, 2025. Friends and family can stop by anytime between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
