Howard Paul Hildreth was born on 11/1/1941 in Modesto, CA to Hubert & Bessie Hildreth.  He spent his childhood in Modesto with his 6 siblings, at age 17 he enlisted in the Air Force where he was a fire fighter from 1959-1963.  He married his high school sweetheart Louise Holcomb in 1961 and they had 3 children. Howard worked in the lumber industry for 40 yrs from the shores of Northern California to the deserts where he finally settled in Modesto in the early 70's, he continued his career in the field until his retirement from the Standard Mill in Sonora.  Howard & Louise Moved to Sonora in 1986 where Howard fulfilled his life long dream of building his own home from beginning to end.  Howard became active in the community after purchasing a down town business. He found his nitch in his volunteer work with the Kiwanis Club of Sonora, he was recognized as Senior Volunteer of the year by the Tuolumne County Commission on Aging in 2011.  Howard is survived by his wife of 55 yrs Louise, his mother Bessie Hildreth, children Christine Marshall, Lisa & Chris Romine, David & Michele Hildreth, 11 grandchildren & 15 Great grandchildren, siblings Jerry & Nancy Hildreth, David & Karin Hildreth, Elaine & John Amstutz, Janice & LLoyd Cantrell, along with numerous nieces, nephews & cousins, all who were very special to Howard.  Memorial service to be held at Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home Sonora, CA March 18th at 2:00 PM.  Burial service to be held at Lakewood Memorial Park March 21st at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Howard's name to Kiwanis Club of Sonora, PO Box 4434, Sonora, CA 95370
