James Frederick Blakeney, a 36 year resident of Escalon, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the age of 69. James Blakeney was born on December 12, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from Jan. of 1965 - Oct. of 1968. James enjoyed riding his Harley, and traveling with Sherry, especially to historic sites. James held a variety of jobs, he was a former Ripon Police Officer, he was a bus driver from Riverbank to Oakdale, and he retired from Tracy Depot; he even ran parts for an electrical company.
He leaves behind his wife Sherry Ann Blakeney. He is survived by his three children, Brenda Terry, of Stockton; Jacqueline Blakeney, of Stockton; and Robert Byers, of Fallon, NV; his brother, Jerry Blakeney, of Stockton; grandchildren, Ryan Terry, of Oceanside, CA; Allie Terry, Rowan Swanson, Jack Swanson, all of Stockton; Caitlin Byers, David Byers, and Chris Byers, all of Fallon, NV; along with 5 great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Becki Blakeney, as well as his sister, Jane Blakeney. James will truly be missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels.
