Steve & Family
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this terrible time.

Jared,
I miss you soo much words cannot explain. You were my rock. My shoulder to cry on. My light at the end of the tunnel. I am so glad that the ones that knew you were soo blessed to know you. It's our turn to carry you on our shoulders. You're at rest. You're at peace. Thank you for giving me the strength to become a better person. You have a very large piece of my heart that no one will ever replace. I promise you that. I promise to be more positive and remember the wonderful times that we had growing up. I know I will have rough days missing you and being sad, but I know your spirit will pull me through it just like you always did. You are soo loved by soo many and will be greatly missed.
I love you Jared.
Steven and Janae, I hope that your hearts heal knowing how much he was loved and all the wonderful things he has done for all of us. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you.
Haley and Clayton, Jared couldn't have asked for better sibilings. He was soo proud of you two. He held you two very close to his heart. You guys have been soo strong for him. You're wonderful.
Noah and Parker, you two have been the light of your daddy's world. He loved you boys soo soo much. Please don't ever forget that.
With all my love,
Miranda Johnson

As a military couple we are stricken with grief to lose a soldier who selflessly was committed to serve his country. As parents we are pained at the thought of how it must feel to lose a child so suddenly.
Steve, although our words cannot fill the void that your family now has, we would still like to express our sincere condolences and pray for your family during this difficult time.

We are at a loss for words over losing Jared as a friend of our family. Jared, Nick and Vince spent many, many hours together at school, playing golf and baseball, swimming, hunting, and fishing. Jared was one of my 'boys' who was sweet, kind, loving, funny, could eat like no one I've ever seen before and we loved him very much. It had been a couple years since the last time we saw him but he has always been in our thoughts, prayers and hearts. Steve & Janae, I am so, so deeply sorry for your loss and I ask God to comfort you in this sad time.
Jared, thank you for serving our country so honorably.
We will always keep you in our thoughts, prayers and hearts.
Love,
Cindy, Nicholas and Vincent Benham

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Jared August Hagemann our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jared. And to Jared it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom while serving in the U.S. Army. Jared, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,307 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jared’s family and loved ones.
