W. Jeffrey "Jeff" Bland, age 49 sadly passed away Tuesday, March 20th, 2012.
Jeff was born on September 12, 1962 in Washington DC and has lived in Modesto for the past twelve years.
He is survived by his mother, Jean, three children, Jake, Jessi and Carly, and wife, Charlene.
Arrangements are entrusted to Franklin & Downs Colonial Chapel. A mass will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 3pm at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 1200 Maze Blvd., Modesto. His final resting place will be private.
Donations in Jeff's memory may be sent to Central Catholic High School Foundation for the Jeff Bland Scholarship Fund 2000 S. Carpenter Rd., Modesto, CA 95351.

I was in coma one of the last Time you come to Bad Homburg and you live for me flowers and a card with prayers for me. It was helpfully and after few months i was alive. I just found out about Jeff passing--I met Jeff few years back while visiting Gallo. YES, Jeff was a great leader. Although, I am a USC guy rather than Stanford, Jeff was a good friend from up north --Jeff, will be missed.

Jeannie,
I was saddened to learn this afternoon about Jeff's passing. Just last week (probably due the weather and the fact that the Phillies were coming to DC) I had been thinking about Jeff and our carefree summer days together in Clarksburg. He was my hero as a kid and I will never forget how, even as young teen, Jeff would insist on visiting with elderly friends on Forest Avenue as we roamed the neighborhood. He always enjoyed making conversation and he knew the value of sharing time with others. This was just one thing that I learned from him amid our mischief. I am glad for those memories and will always remember the fun and laughter we shared. I pray that God comforts you and Jeff's family.

Charlene, the children, and Jean, the tributes to Jeff in this guest book make it obvious that Jeff made a lasting impression on people all over the world. We have not seen our cousin Jeff since we were kids at the Miller farm. However, we have stayed in touch through his wonderful mother, my Aunt Jeannie. Hard to imagine a more hearbreaking event. This was a tragedy as someone as caring and giving as Jeff has left us. The Porterfield family is grieving over his loss. He was too young and had too much good to give to leave us this soon. I haven't seen him in years but kept close to his live adventures and achievements through family. Our prayers for his kids and mother will hopefully provide some comfort. He was an extraordinary individual and will be sorely missed. The world is a much better place with people like Jeff.

I was very saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. I had a great deal of respect for him. If we ever passed each other at work he always took the time to stop, shake my hand and ask how I was doing. He always made me feel like a welcome part of the team.
