Johnny Eugene Mc Lelland
March 12, 1943 - September 4, 2011
68, of Ceres, passed away Sunday, September 4th, 2011. He was born March 12th, 1943 in Gili Bend, AZ to Mattie & Harvey McLelland. Preceded in death by his parents, step father Mervin Reed, sisters Geraldine Arretche, Fay Kyle, Freda Mc Lelland, brothers William Coy, James Clayton, Gerald Wayne, Freddie, and Terry. Johnny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reta Mc Lelland, children Charles, Alicia (Alisa), Clayton, Mattie (Craig) Maines, and Mona Moore all of Ceres. He is also survived by his brother Harvey Mc Lelland, grandchildren Kylie and Aiden Maines and many nieces and nephews.
Johnny was an amazing husband, devoted father and a proud papa. He had enormous love for his family and cherished his friends. His smile was infectious and his sense of humor could warm your soul. He touched the lives of so many people.
Johnny was a master mechanic and a retired truck driver. He could fix or build anything. He was always willing to help where ever needed.
Johnny enjoyed playing with his grandkids, and working in his garden or driving his tractor. He loved family get togethers and enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a book.
His viewing is September 12th, from 5pm to 8pm at Eaton Family Funeral Services, 513 12th St, Modesto. A memorial service will be held on September 13th, at 10am at First Southern Baptist Church of Ceres, graveside burial at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella at 2pm.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests w/ gratitude that memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association and American Heart Association.
