Larry Ferreira Obituary

Larry Ferreira

September 3, 1933 - October 27, 2025

Ceres, California - Larry Ferreira, aged 92, of Ceres, California, passed away on October 27, 2025. He was born on September 3, 1933, in Merced, California.

After graduating from Turlock High School, Larry honorably served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Larry had a successful career as a backhoe operator, eventually owning and operating Ferreira Backhoe for 30 years.

Larry married Judy Ferreira, and together they shared 40 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Judy; children, Denny Ferreira and Cindy Granado Uyematsu (Harrison); four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Ferreira Sr. and Eleanora Myers; his daughter, Tina Ferreira; and his infant son, Kenny Ferreira.

An active member of his community, Larry was honored as Grand Marshall of the Turlock 4th of July parade, celebrating his contributions to the community.

Larry had a passion for restoring classic cars, a hobby that earned him numerous awards at car shows. He also enjoyed traveling in his RV with friends and spending time in Yuma, AZ. His friendly persona and his trademark farewell, "Call me if you think of something to say!" will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Turlock Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Turlock VFW Post 5059, located at 1401 E. Linwood, Turlock, CA, honoring Larry's commitment to fellow veterans and his community.
