Lillian Hampton October 14, 1936 - September 20, 2021 Los Angeles, California - Lillian Patricia Hampton -- loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt -- passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Los Angeles on September 20, 2021. Her daughter Lydia was by her side. Lillian is survived by many family members, including her daughter Lydia, her brothers Jack and Steve, her sister Louise, her five grandchildren, Jason Vera, Roxanne Paul, Sarah Vera, Julene Paul and Alexander Vera, and one great-grandchild, Sienna. She was predeceased by her son Michael, her husband Bob, her former husband Manuel, and her sisters Ann, Theresa and Alice. Lillian was born on October 14, 1936 in Los Angeles to Joaquin Aguilar and Antonia Franco Aguilar, and was one of seven children. She grew up in Lincoln Heights and attended Lincoln High School. In 1956 she married Manuel Vera, her high school sweetheart, and had two children: Lydia Paul (nee Vera, b. 1957) and Michael Felix Vera (b. 1960). They lived in Southern California and she enjoyed a career in marketing and sales. Lillian found love again and married Robert (Bob) Hampton in 1987. They lived together for many years in Hickman, a small town in the Central Valley. Lillian was lucky to have both Bob's son and daughter-in-law, Theresa and Bob Hampton, Jr., living nearby. She also enjoyed spending time with their son Paul. Lillian and Bob loved to travel and visited many cities within the U.S. and abroad. On these trips, she enjoyed learning about the rich cultures of each place they visited. She also loved family, friends, and golf. She and Bob were longtime members of the Oakdale Country Club. Many will remember her for quick wit, love of reading, and prodigious crossword puzzle-solving skills. In the face of the challenges of her last days, which were complicated by the pandemic, Lillian remained upbeat and positive. She also continued to advocate for others as she had her entire life. Even during her final days, Lillian set a high standard for character. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at Oakdale Memorial Chapel on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
