Luella Mae Neafus

LUELLA MAE NEAFUS APR 12,1908 - MAR 13, 2009 Daughter of Charles and Edna Craig. Luella was born in Modesto. She had two sisters, Mildred and her twin, Evelyn. Luella grew up in Salida and attended Salida Community Church. Luella's Grandfather, Hiram, gave the right of way which forms the town of Hughson named for him. Her Grand- mother had the Hughson Hotel, built in memory of her husband. After graduating from Modesto High School, Luella worked at the National Dollar store, before working at Loeb's in Modesto. Luella married Victor Lee Neafus in 1948. Vic passed away in 1988. Luella was a member of the First Christian Church; Electra Chapter OES; and Shriner's Widow Club. Luella is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Service will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 1:30 PM at Franklin and Downs, 12th and G Streets.
