María M. Abarca
December 1, 1916 - February 2, 2013
96, of Tala, Jalisco, Mexico, was born to the late Fermina Gonzalez and Felix Cortés. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Abarca, and three of her children: Amada Goez, Dolores Zavala, and Jose Abarca Jr. María is survived by her other six children Ramon Abarca, María Abarca, Elva Abarca, Irma Zavala, Gloria Abarca, and Imelda Swan; 30 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
Married to her husband for 75 years, María was an amazing woman of incredible strength who cared for her family deeply.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 7th from 4pm-6pm with rosary to follow at 6pm at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive. A mass will be held on Friday, February 8th at 9:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road, with burial to follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, 1141 Scenic Drive. All services will be held in Modesto, CA.
