Narbada "Niru" Prasad

NARBADA PRASAD ''NIRU'' SEPT 6, 1954 - FEB 10, 2009 Mrs. Narbada Prasad, born in the Fiji Islands to Arjun and Gyan Singh on September 6, 1954, passed away February 10, 2009 at her home in Oakdale at the age of 54 years. Mrs. Prasad, more affectionately known as Niru,'' was a lady who lived life to its fullest. She was employed by Tri Valley Growers/Seneca Foods for over 35 years. She has assumed many duties but currently was a syrup maker. Niru loved the employees she worked with and those feelings were returned by the numerous friendships that developed with her coworkers over the years. She was a member of and attended at the Shiree Ram Mandir Temple in Modesto where more friendships grew and it seemed that everywhere Niru went, she made friends. She also nurtured a very special bond within the walls of her own home with her family. Niru was an excellent mother to her children and a perfect wife to her husband. She and her husband of 37 wonderful years, Dhiren Chad,'' loved to spend time together and traveled to different countries every two years. One of Niru's last desires, was to watch the ball drop in Times Square on New Year's Eve, and although that will be a wish that cannot not be fulfilled, Niru did live a life that was rich in many blessings; the joys and blessings of life itself and the realization that she had done her best in all she did. Niru is survived by her husband Dhiren Chad'' Prasad of Oakdale; daughters Nancy (Shailendra) Kumar of San Jose, Sonia Prasad of Oakdale and her fiance Dustin Boothe, Renee Prasad of Lakeport; mother Gyan Singh of San Jose; sisters Mayur Pal of British Columbia, Canada, Rambha Chandra of Surrey, Canada, Satwant Prasad of Modesto, Bobbie Singh of Newark; brothers Marut Singh of San Jose, Sunil Singh of Los Banos, Neel Singh of San Jose; and two grandchildren Sean and Nyah Kumar. Niru will truly be missed by her family and friends and a void has been created that cannot be filled. A visitation has been scheduled for Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California.
