Escalon, California - It is with deep sadness that our precious Mama Patsy Ruth Wood passed away on April 9, 2025 at her daughter Cindy's house in Escalon, California. Patsy was born at home in Porum, Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Sherrow & son-in-law Walt Sherrow of Escalon, California, daughter, Sandy Taylor, and son-in-law Scott Taylor of Salida, California, one grandson Blake Carmickle of Hickman, California, one granddaughter, Erica Kinslow of La Mesa, California and one great grandson Elliott Kinslow of La Mesa, California. Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Roxie Wood, three brothers Ralph, Floyd and Glen.
Patsy loved her two daughters and two grandkids and helped them until the day she passed away and even after her death. Mom will always be in our hearts and we will always be grateful to God for giving us the very best Mama and Grandma you could ever ask for.
Patsy worked for the DMV for almost 30 years and was part owner in the Orchard Country Store and Vernalis Post Office for over 13 years. In her spare time she planned large parties for her Oakdale High Class of 1962 reunion parties, she also enjoyed helping veterans and raising money for them. Patsy will be greatly missed by her family, friends, dogs and all of her farm animals that she loved with all her heart.
Services for Patsy will be on April 26, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Cornorstone community Church located at 2200 Sunrise Ave., Modesto, CA 95350.

On Sunday, February 1, I called Patsy Ruth to wish her a happy birthday. I reached her disconnected phone. I was at a loss and called Claudora.
Patsy and I lived on Central Avenue in Riverbank until my family was displaced by eminent domain in 1958 for the high school. We attended school together at California Avenue in Riverbank, California.
Patsy and I were in contact over the years. She and Leo Carrillo invited me to the monthly Class of 1962 breakfast and high school reunions.
Patsy kept me in the loop for the high school social activities until her health interrupted her social skills a few years ago.
Patsy´s ability to laugh and have fun made her one of my most enduring friends. Her love and pride of her two daughters and their family was always a pleasure to share. I miss her and her friendship. May her family find peace and comfort in knowing that she loves you dearly today where you are. God bless you all

Patsy was à very good friend. She did a great job handling functions for the class of 62. She will be missed. Prayers go out to her family. She was very proud of her daughters.
