PETER K. BROWN SEPT 15, 1927 - MAY 22, 2010 Peter passed away on Saturday morning May 22 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, he was 82 years old. He was born on September 15, 1927 in Maidstone Kent England and was 1 of 13 children. He served in the British Merchant Marine and filled his 10 year obligation. He then moved to Montreal Canada to live with his sister who had immigrated earlier; Peter immigrated to the United States in 1959. A resident of Escalon for the past 43 years, Peter had worked as a painting contractor in the Escalon area until he was 62. Earlier in life, Peter enjoyed gardening, sailing and painting pictures. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Jean; children George (Jeri) Pickering of Oakdale, Joanne Nelson of N. Syracuse NY and Steven Brown of Sutter Creek; grandchildren Melissa Floyd of San Ramon, Amy Pickering of Oakdale, Katherine Nelson of N. Syracuse NY, Laura Schmidt of Mountain Home ID, Kim Wellman of Lathrop and 5 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews; his sister Molly Burgess of Stockton, as well as his siblings in Maidstone Kent England, Julia Ellis, David Brown, John Brown and Michael Brown. Peter's graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28 at 10:00 am at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
