Rex was born in Scott City, Kansas. He moved to Goodland, Kansas where he graduated from High School. Through his adolescent years he assisted his father in the operation of their family owned bakery, in Leota, Kansas where he also found his passion for baking.  He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska for two of the four years he served. Rex moved to San Jose, Ca. in 1961, where he worked for Albertsons, and soon after met and fell in love with Linda Lou. They married January 11, 1964. As a couple they lived in Salinas, Ca for 18 ½ years. Then they moved to Delhi, Ca on February 1, 1986. He is survived by his daughter Michelle of Delhi, his son Trevor of Dublin, his two sisters, June and Marcia, as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, sister and wife.  Burial will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, Ca. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 10:30 am.  A Memorial Service will be held at The New Life Christian Church, on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 3pm. Officiating pastor will be Dean Wilson. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Life Christian Church, 9664 Hinton Ave. Delhi, Ca. 95315
