Robert "Bob" Joy, 80, passed away Monday in Hughson. 
Born in New York City, Bob was a young child when his family relocated to The Dalles, Oregon. It was there that he met and married his wife Beverly. 
He spent his early years working with Inland Navigation, which took him up to Alaska and down to Mexico. In the early '60s, he moved his young family to Northern California where he spent several years with Carnation Milk Company. The remainder of his career was spent as a truck driver for various companies.
Bob and Bev enjoyed traveling, and their favorite destinations included the Caribbean Islands, Tahiti, and Hawaii. Bob always looked forward to family outings as well, which included their fishing trips to Lake Almanor and other favorite "fishing holes." He always enjoyed his time with lifelong friends Walt Smith and Fred Kusrow.  Most of all, Bob loved the countless hours spent in his garden.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly, and their children Steve Joy and Shawn (Brian) Lee. He leaves four wonderful grandchildren, Stephen Joy, Shannon Joy, Alyssa (Kevin) Carey, and Erika (Jacob) Allbritton. 
One of his greatest "Joy's" was his great-granddaughter, Amara Allbritton (His Baby).
Also surviving are siblings Susan Williams and Richard Cowan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one brother.
