Ronald Grantski Obituary
December 16, 1946 - April 8, 2018
Ronald 'Ron' Frank Grantski, age 71, of Modesto, CA passed away April 8, 2018 at home. He was preceded in death by his parents Sarah and Don Grantski, son, Darrin Grantski and step daughter Laci Peterson.
Ron served in the Navy and received a Purple Heart for his tour of duty on the USS Liberty. He was an avid fisherman and loved going to the horse races.
Ron is survived by his long time companion Sharon Rocha, sisters Donna (Ron) Barnhart and Carol (Phil) Frazier, stepson Brent (Rose) Rocha, grandchildren Antonio, Massi, Giorgio and Sofia Rocha, and nephews Zachary Zwald and Sam Barnhart.
Graveside service will be held at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, Tuesday, April 17th at 1:00 PM.
Remembrance donations may be made to any charity of choice.

I just today read that Mr Grantski had passed. I am so profoundly sorry for your loss Ms Rocha. He seemed to be a very kind, loving and a man of unwavering integrity. No I did not have the pleasure of meeting him, but like so many came to know him through the unimaginable loss of Laci and Connor. I have read your book several times and I think of Laci and you this time of year. As I have in the past I will say a prayer for Mr Grantski and your family. Again I am so very sorry.

I am currently reading Sharon's heartbreaking book: "For Laci".....
It is a beautiful and moving book and Ron, of course, features, regularly, throughout the pages of the book. Both Ron and Sharon come across (equally in the book and whenever they appeared on television) as warm and loving 'family-oriented' people and I truly admire (from afar) how they both carried and conducted themselves throughout that horrific, nightmarish, and 'unimaginably painful' life-altering tragedy! I sincerely hope Ron and Laci, and her beautiful baby boy, Conner, are now lovingly reunited in God's care. RIP xx

My deepest condolences and prayers to his family and friends, most of all Sharon. As I watched and listened to everything that has happened since December 24, 2002, I absolutely adored Ron and Sharon's relationship. When I read Sharon's book, I really began to admire this family and most of all the relationship between Ron and Sharon. Through the most tragic and trying times, you guys were each other's rock and strength. It saddens me to hear of his passing and I pray for strength to his family and friends. There is one very happy thought and vision I have for Ron though, as he goes to the heavens, I'm very certain Laci's beautiful smile and welcoming heart will be one of the first things Ron will see.

My heart goes out to Ron's family. I am from the Boston area so I just know of Ron from the media due to what happened to poor Laci and Conner. I could tell he was a very strong, kind man and was a rock for his family who were going through such an awful tragedy.
I know he had a very happy reunion in Heaven with Laci and he finally got to meet Conner after all this time. The Lord is good. +~1 Thessalonians 4:13-18~+

My deepest sympathy to the Sharon and the rest of Ron's family. To Ron, when I recall some of our early escapades, I find I occasionally have to laugh out loud. Grammar school, Jr. High School, High School, Tahoe, and the Navy -- we had quite a ride in those early years. You left way too soon, but I am glad your suffering is finally done.
