Mom, I am home alone at the moment, in tears of course as I try to take in the past 2 weeks. It has been five days since we laid you to rest. A day that I will never forget. I am still scouring over documents you left behind and trying to make sense of it all just as you would have me do. I worked really hard on your funeral as did so many members of your loving family. I hope we did you proud. It was beautiful and very befitting of such a lovely lady as yourself. I tried to be strong through it all, you in the hospital, the decision (your choice) to move you to hospice when the time came. Your passing 12 hours later. I know you needed me to be strong. So, in the presence of the tasks that were before me, I was strong. But alone, I fell to pieces every day. You are going to be missed so much. Everything about you will be missed. You were one of a kind. I love you, Mom. Rest in sweet peace. Until we see each other again....your loving son, Ricky.

Tho I never had the chance to personally meet Ruby, I almost felt like I knew her from all the treasured stories shared by her beloved son~ Rick. She certainly was a great Mother to her family.
