Modesto, California - Sharol Ann Terrill, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2021, while surrounded by her family. She was born on March 25, 1935, in Modesto to Geri and Bill Samuelson.
Sharol loved her family, Friday nights dining out, Wednesday night dinners with her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and Saturday morning coffee dates with her niece, Dana. She also had a love for gambling and looked forward to her yearly birthday trip to Reno with all her family and friends. She loved entering handgun shooting competitions at the Modesto Rifle Club, where she would often win. She also volunteered as a rape crisis counselor for Stanislaus County in the '80s and '90s. Sharol enjoyed traveling the world where she met friends that lasted her lifetime.
She made the best memories on her yearly trips to Hawaii with her sister Erline and niece Dana, and eventually her daughters and grandchildren joined in on the fun.
Sharol is survived by her children, Mike Mota, Cathy Dompeling (Jack), and Patti King (Dave); her grandchildren, Jennifer Ulm (Richard), Monica Dompeling, David King (Chrissy), Valerie Dompeling, Robby King (Britney), Joey King (Liz), Nick King (Beth), Daniel Ficarra, and Kayci Silva (Randy); along with eleven great-grandchildren, her niece Dana, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Sharol was preceded in death by her husband, George Terrill; son, Joe Mota; sister, Erline Richburg; brother, Dennis Samuelson; and her loving dogs, Polly and Holly.
A burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 14, 2022, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Rd., Santa Nella, CA. Lunch and a Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Pea Soup Andersen's, 12411 CA-33, Santa Nella, CA.
