Wilfrid Gravenish Obituary

Wilfrid "Bill" Gravenish
Jun 18, 1917 - Jul 15, 2015
W. J. "Bill" Gravenish was a native of Iowa, born June 18, 1917.   He attended college in Iowa, served in the US Army in WWII and was stationed in Hawaii during his entire military tenure.  He married Lillian Foley Gravenish in 1945 after his discharge from the Army.  Bill and his wife settled in the San Francisco Bay Area where he owned and operated an electrical business.
Bill's wife preceded him in death in 1987; four brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.  His devoted daughter, Dr. Susan C. Lockman was his only child and survives Bill.  His grandchildren Alyssa C. Allen and Ryan J. Lockman were his pride and joy; Bill delighted in his great grandchildren Samantha G. Allen and Blake J. Allen.  His family was his priority in life and his love for them unconditional.  He will evermore be "Papa" to all who loved him.
Bill passed away peacefully at Dameron Hospital in Stockton, with family members by his side.  A private rosary was held at Deegan Funeral Chapel and private services were held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.  Burial was at Mtn. View Catholic Cemetery, in Sonora.
