Modesto, California - William Ross Briles, 85, husband of Marie Briles, passed away on October 10, 2024 in Tulare, California. Born October 4, 1939 in Liberal, Kansas to William (Bill) and Zella Briles, he grew up and attended Hotchkiss High School and Apostolic Faith Bible College. After moving to Modesto, he faithfully served Sherwood Bible Church for over 62 years as well as working at Putt-Putt Golf/Funworks alongside his wife. Ross was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, and is survived by his children, Cheryl and Alethea Jan, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sister Madeline. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 29, at 10:00 a.m., in the open-air amphitheater at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., in Hughson, California. Donations can be made in his name to India Gospel Outreach (www.indiago.org).

Ross will be missed. His dedication to the Lord was obvious not by word but by his life of service. I will miss his predictable "fits bump." There are many who worked along side Ross and I am sure his "going home" will leave a void in their lives! The good news is Ross gave so much while hear on earth and, now he is Home with his Lord and Savior!

I´m so sorry to hear of your families loss. Ross hired me for my first job at 16 years old to work at putt putt. He was a good man and treated me well. I would bump into him around town throughout the years and he was always just as kind to me. I could always see Christ in him. God bless your whole family.

CHERYL and JAN, I was very saddened to see that your beloved father passed away. Your mom and dad were very special to CHUCK and I. Your dad performed repeat of our vows on our 25th anniversary. Then I made your mom and dad`s 25th anniversary cake. We were very grateful to have known them and wish you peace and comfort in the coming months.

Cheryl and Jan, I was saddened to hear your dad has passed away. A most amazing person was he and remembering great times with your family. Your dad did a repeat vows of Chuck and I 25th Anniversary.
