RALPH EVANS Obituary
Ralph "Bingo" Evans, age 75, past away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at his home in Fort Mohave, Arizona, surrounded by family. He was born on September 16, 1948, in Cairo, Iowa, the youngest of seven children of Phillip A Evans and N. Lucile (Pontzius) Evans.
On March 8, 1968, he married Sherry Miller. He had three daughters and later divorced. On January 11, 1992, he married Wendy Cross who had two children.
Mr. Evans worked farming, construction, many years as a certified welder and in management at CECO in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and retired from Ideal Ready Mix in Burlington, Iowa. In July 2013, they moved to Arizona to enjoy retirement in the sunshine.
He was a family man who enjoyed playing, instructing, and coaching his daughters in softball and spending time with family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also liked camping, fishing, hunting, watching football, dancing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Edward, Morris LeRoy, and Arthur William (Corky); two sisters, Phyllis Irene Plummer and Lucille Sarah Self; and one granddaughter, Angel Hiestand.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Wendy; three daughters, Debbie (Jack) Hiestand Larabee of Temecula, California, Becky (Bobby) Norton of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Jennifer Smith of Kingman, Arizona; stepson, Dan Cross of Los Angeles, California; stepdaughter, Michala (Molly) Cross of Fort Mohave, Arizona; eight grandkids; nine great-grandkids; one sister, Margaret (Marvin) Johanson of New London, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Unity Spiritual Center of the Mohave Valley, 967 Hancock Road Ste. 93, Bullhead City, Arizona, 86442. Officiating will be Leah Coulter.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Mount Pleasant Iowa Girls Softball. Donations can be sent to PO Box 802 Mount Pleasant, Iowa, 52641 in Ralph's memory.
