RONALD "RON" PARKER

~Ronald "Ron" Parker, age 57, a resident of Golden Valley, Ariz., passed away peacefully with his loving daughter and wife by his side at home on Friday, October 31, 2014.

~Ron was born April 25, 1957 in Austin, Texas to Gene and Blackie Parker. He grew up in Bastrop, Texas with his sisters Charlotte, Debbie and brother David.

~While keeping to Texas traditions his family moved to Buckeye, Ariz. at a young age. In his teen years his family moved to Chino Valley, Ariz. where he met his wife of 30 years and their daughter was born.

~In 1987 he relocated to the Colorado River area, where he worked at the Riverside Resort for 17 years as the Assistant Electrical Supervisor. Ron was a mechanic in his dad's shop at age 9 and became a machinist in his early 20's which drew him to his love of cars and racing. He sped around Mohave Valley Raceway in ole #13 Nova or Camaro for many years. In his early years at Texas World Speedway he raced with newcomer, Rusty Wallace and watched Dale Earnhardt beginning his career.

~Ron was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great friend who will be dearly missed.

~Ron is survived by his wife, Theresa A. Parker; daughter, Angela Swope of Lubbock, Texas; and grandsons, Shawn Michael, Killian Blake and Timothy James, of Lubbock, Texas.
