Charlotte Loretta Schmid was born on December 2, 1928, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was the only daughter born of four children to the late Carl and the late Loretta (Stoll) Schmid. Charlotte graduated with the class of 1946 from Saline High School. She was a member of East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Charlotte met the love of her life, Elmer Leroy Roth and they married on March 22, 1952. From this union came the birth of five sons and together they raised their family in Monroe. Charlotte was an excellent mother, working hard from home to care for her family. Charlotte and her husband enjoyed traveling the world together. Charlotte enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Monroe Senior Center.
Charlotte Loretta Roth, age 90, of Monroe, passed away at 8:29 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. In addition to her parents, her passing is preceded by her beloved husband: Elmer; and her three brothers: Howard, Dean and Gerald.
To cherish her memory, Charlotte leaves her five sons: Dennis (Ekaterina Evstigneeva) Roth of La Crescenta, California, Alan Roth of Belleville, Brian Roth of Monroe, Duane (Nancy Paradise) Roth of La Canada, California and Calvin (Irina) Roth of London, England; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
No public services have been planned. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185.
