Douglas Shown Obituary
Nov. 15, 1955-Nov. 8, 2019
Douglas A. Shown, age 63, of Ash Township, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2019, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Born on November 15, 1955, in Trenton, Michigan, he was the son of Miller and Ruth (Kyle) Shown. On April 6, 1993 he married Ellen Miller in Las Vegas, NV.
He was employed with DTE Energy as a Journeyman Lineman until retiring.
Douglas was a graduate of Airport HS Class of 1973, then continued his education at Michigan Tech University graduating in 1982 with a Master's Degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management. During High School he played basketball, baseball and cross country. He was a member of the 1972 State Championship baseball team and placed 11th in the state in Cross Country.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lewis Shown.
He is survived by his wife Ellen Shown; son Andrew Shown; stepsons Mark (Megan) Doyle and Michael (Cortney) Doyle; brothers James Shown, Richard (Jeanine) Shown and Robert (Darlene) Shown; sisters Linda Holm, Connie (Neal) Fuchs, Vicki (Larry) Guinn and Debi Shown; daughter-in-law Tawny Johnson; grandsons Isaac Doyle, Max Doyle and Finnegan Doyle.
A memorial visitation will be held in Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel, on Sunday, November 24, 2019, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Carleton Airport Athletic Program.
