Lee Gauss Obituary

Lee Ann Gauss, 70, of Petersburg, passed away at her home on Monday, April 10, 2017, under the care of her family and hospice.
She was born in Monroe on Jan. 9, 1947, the daughter of Clyde and Marian (Collins) Toburen. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1965, then Stautzenberger College and Cleary Business College in Ypsilanti.
She was employed as a paralegal at Gallon and Takacs Law Firm in Toledo.
She was an active member of the Dundee United Methodist Church, serving as secretary on church boards, sang in the choir and was a member of the chime/handbell choir.
She married William Gauss on April 6, 2004, in Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons Leslie Van Dyke of Jonesville and Michael (Misty) VanDyke of Toledo; daughter Cynthia Sprague of Greensboro, N.C.; stepdaughters Kimberly (Ron) Simmons of Ann Arbor and June Gauss of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren Shelby, Colt and Hailie; a sister, Nancy (Robert ) Humes of Wadsworth, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In accordance with her final wishes, cremation has been held. A memorial service for her will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Dundee United Methodist Church, corner of Sidney and Franklin Streets. Co-officiating will be the Revs. Andy Baek and Douglas Olsen.
Arrangements are being handled by the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh St., Dundee (734-529-3156).
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Women's Fellowship at Dundee United Methodist Church 645 Franklin St., Dundee, MI 48131; the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 10400 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 480, Columbia, MD 21044; or to the American Cancer Society of Michigan, 20450 Civic Center Drive, Southfield, MI 48076.
