Vickie Lee (Masserant) Balogh, 57, of Trenton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, following her courageous battle with ataxia.
She was born Nov. 14, 1958 in Monroe, Mich. to Victor Leo and Carolyn (Scheffler) Masserant. Growing up she attended St. Patrick Grade School in Carleton and was a 1976 graduate of St. Mary Academy. She went on to attend Monroe County Community College.
She started her career with Michigan Bell shortly after her high school graduation and worked for more than 30 years, retiring as a supervisor.
She married Daniel J. Balogh at St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Riverview. Sadly, he preceded her in death Nov. 3,
Vickie was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Trenton, and was a very avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions.
She enjoyed spending time reading, going out to eat, and visiting zoos.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Grant C. and Gabe V. of Trenton, and her father and stepmother, Victor and Sandy Masserant of Monroe.
As well as Dan, her mother, and brothers, Bradley, Brent, and Bryan, all preceded her in death.
Friends are invited to call Friday, Oct. 28, from 2 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd.
Fr. David Burgard, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Monroe, will officiate. For those desiring to make a memorial contribution in her name, the National Ataxia Foundation,, is suggested.
