Michelle Johnson Michelle Johnson of Montevideo died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the age of 62. A public visitation was held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 5-6 p.m. at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Michelle Marie Eddy was born in Montevideo on October 8, 1960, to James and Evelyn Eddy. She attended Montevideo High School and was very involved in track and field, even breaking school records for her time. Shortly after high school Michelle married former spouse Brian Akre and went on to have two children, Jayme and Jason. In 1986, Michelle was united in marriage to Bruce Johnson on April 26. Together they had a daughter, Shara. Michelle spent the majority of life living and working in the Montevideo area. She worked alongside Bruce for many years doing custom woodworking and cabinetry. Michelle enjoyed many of the simple things in life including preparing meals and entertaining guests. She always made sure there was an open seat at the table for anyone. She enjoyed cooking and baking so much that she went on to obtain her cottage license to be able to prepare baked goods right in her own home. Michelle often found laughter in playing small pranks on her family. She enjoyed trips to the casino, cheering for the Vikings and getting outside to tend the garden. Michelle was most prideful of her grandchildren and they brought her tremendous joy. Family will remember Michelle as a great mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She loved her family and cared hard for every single person in her life. She never stopped worrying about everyone else and made sure everyone around her was safe and happy. She left this life giving more than she ever took. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Johnson; children: Jason (Sheena) Akre of Zimmerman, Jayme (partner James) Akre of Montevideo, Shara (James) McCormick of St. Michael; mother, Evelyn Eddy; 10 grandchildren: Landon Stock, Jayda Akre, Jenna Akre, Raelyn Schuchardt, Kaitlyn McCormick, Kiahna McCormick, Korah McCormick, Jude Akre, Scarlett Akre, Slyvie Akre; sister: Sharon Schroeder; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father: James Eddy; brother, Harlan Eddy; and nephew, Shawn Eddy.
