RUTHANN ONNEN RuthAnn Onnen of Montevideo passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 75. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour before the service. RuthAnn Eileen (Goring) Onnen was born August 22, 1949, in Virginia, Minn., the daughter of Harland and Rosella (Raymond) Goring. She moved with her family to Washington and Alaska before moving to the Willmar area where she graduated from Willmar High School in 1967. RuthAnn was united in marriage with Ronald Onnen October 23, 1971, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They made their home in Montevideo where she worked at Barwick Manufacturing as a seamstress. They moved to Andover in 1994 where she worked at Hillyard Drapery. After retirement, they returned to Montevideo in 2015. She was active in VFW Post 380 Auxiliary and was a past president. She enjoyed sewing, drawing, sketching, doing crafts and painting. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and lottery tickets. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two children: Ryan (Tamara) Onnen of Andover and Rashelle (Jerry Johnson) Onnen of Montevideo; three grandchildren: Brock and Miranda Onnen and Reagan Onnen; and two step-grandchildren: Brady and Leigha Johnson. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Ron in 2020; and grandson, Ryker Johnson; two sisters: Alyce Scott and Rebecca Cushman; and a brother, Edward Goring.
