Anthony Crivello Obituary

Anthony Crivello

MONTEREY – Anthony Paul Crivello, 64, left us to be with God, November 20, 2007, after a three-year battle with cancer. He faced his illness with incredible grace and dignity, grateful for the life of blessings that had been bestowed upon him.
Anthony was surrounded by an adoring family including his six children: Stephanie Rowand (Lee), Rebecca Wietersen (Mark), Christopher Cardoza (Kari), Anthony Nicholas Crivello (Theresa), Angel Crivello and Rachel Crivello. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Rose Crivello. Anthony was proud of eight beautiful grandchildren: Vincent Garcia and Sophia Rowand; Rose Wietersen; Jan and Phelysha Cardoza; Ariana, Anthony Christopher and Isaac Crivello and one great grandchild, Jessie. In his last years, he found love again in his dear companion, Jill Anderson.
Anthony graduated from Junipero Serra High School in 1961 and from San Jose State College in 1965 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He served in the Army for two years in Korea and earned his CPA license shortly thereafter. He shared a sound Monterey practice for 25 years with Don Robinson and more recently merged offices with Barbara Simonich, CPA. He said of his work, "I am a fish in water; I love my
job!"
Anthony's own roots were grounded in the proud Italian-American history of Monterey, including the fishing industry. His parents were Joseph and Frances Crivello, who have long since passed. He leaves loving siblings ,Marie Compagno (Sebastian), Catherine Compagno (Anthony), John Crivello (Gloria), Paula Crivello and numerous nieces and nephews. With his own family, as well as his extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins, prayer group, fellow cyclists and dear friends, he lived a life he relished.
A memorial service will be celebrated at San Carlos Cathedral on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any memorial contributions be directed to the Hospice of the Central Coast, 1000 Munras Ave., Ste. 200, Monterey, CA 93940.

My mom just told me about 30 minutes ago that Anthony Jr died last night. So I found this page of my uncle Anthony also and I wanted to read about this ma that I loved very much. Rose is my great aunt and my favorite person of my childhood and uncle Anthony was very special to me. Very kind and gentle man. I spent many holidays and summer at their home with my cousins Angel, Rose, and Anthony were living their and many others would come. Aunt Rose and Uncle Anthony´s house was the best place in the world to me. Now his son has passed and I only have a few pictures of me and them to look at but I have a lot of memories. I miss them all very much.

I remember "Big" Anthony (is what I called him), as a tall, warm, loving man. I remember him from an 8 year olds' eyes. Rose was my babysitter. I'm very saddened to hear of Anthony's passing, as well as Roses', I did not know. I loved them both very much and will forever remember them as kind gentle people.
Stephanie, Becky, Chris, Anthony, and the rest of the family--may you be comforted with peace and strength.

I worked for Work & Robinson at a desk right next toTony back in the 70's right after getting out of the Navy. It was a very great time in my life and Tony and Rose were very much a part of it. Losing him is losing a big part of my history and I will miss him. My prayers go out to you and him.
