Bruce Meyers, born September 22, 1950 to Leonard and Dorothy Meyers, passed away, comfortably, in his sleep on April 30, 2016 in Monterey, CA after a battle with lung cancer. Bruce is survived by his two sons, Dan and wife Andrea, and Matt and wife Jenn and grandsons Will and Drew, his siblings, Susan Meyers and Jim Meyers.
Growing up in Fresno, Bruce enjoyed the loving support of a close-knit family and a core group of lifelong friends. He often recounted tales from backpacking and camping trips with his family and friends. He graduated from Bullard High ('68) and attended of the University of Nevada, Reno and CSU Fresno. As a young professional Bruce found joy as a winemaker, but left Napa to spend more time with his family in Fresno as a stockbroker. Later Bruce headed back to the classroom at the California Culinary Academy, where he worked hard to transform his enjoyment of cooking into a profession he loved, earning a job at Pebble Beach cooking for the Tap Room.
Bruce will be remembered by most as a proud father, and even more proud grandfather, a good golfer, a talented cook, a great friend, and a lover of life. He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and community. Everyone he knew enjoyed the generosity and unwavering loyalty that came with Bruce's friendship.
