Frieda Bresk Obituary
91 years old
Santa Barbara, CA
FRIEDA BRESK was a lively, happy and infectiously positive woman. She passed away Wednesday, February 28 at 91 years old in Santa Barbara, CA. Born to German immigrant parents in New York, the only daughter of four siblings, she enjoyed three doting and protective brothers watching over her. She married her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Frank Bresk, in 1950, and shortly thereafter they moved to California.
Our mother inspired everyone she met with her glowing kindness and generosity of spirit, her funny and often silly stories and simple yet profound philosophies – all blended with a touch of mischievousness. She fought and won many medical battles in her life with grace, courage and confidence. Two and a half years ago she was diagnosed with cancer, yet never once let it dim her shine. She was an angel incarnate who, moments before she left this Earth said with a smile, "This too shall pass."
She is survived by Frank and their five children and seven grandchildren.
The Family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Health Center and Assisted Hospice for the Loving care and special attention they graciously gave our Mom during her final days. You made her comfortable and feel very special.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 31. Condolences may be sent to [email protected]. Please consider donating to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Dear Frank and Family:
We want to express our deepest sympathy regarding the loss of your dear wife, mother, grandmother and best friend. It has been said that a happy marriage is like a long conversation that always seems too short, and we are sure that saying certainly captures what Frieda meant to you and your family.
We will always remember with heartfelt gratitude her support (and your support) of the Gentrain program. It is not too much to sum up that help as invaluable.
There will be so many things in your future that will remind you of the love and kindness of Frieda. In that way she will live forever for you as she does for us whenever our thoughts drift to Monterey Peninsula College and its Gentrain program.
