Jeanne "Jeannie" Trudeau passed away peacefully on August 1st at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in 1942 to Wilfrid "Bing" & Mary Treacy, Jeannie and her older sister Marie grew up in Albany, CA. After earning her degree at Mount Saint Mary's University and getting her teaching credential, she began what would become her long and wonderful career in education in Southern California. Eventually, she specialized in Special Education at several schools here on the Monterey Peninsula. "Miss Jeannie" was a favorite of students and staff at Mission Union Elementary in Soledad and Crumpton Elementary in Marina. She truly loved her work and her students.
Jeannie and husband Dennis began raising their family, sons Joel and Nicolas (Kim) and daughter Jeannine, in Hacienda Heights, CA. The family relocated to Carmel Valley in 1976.
Jeannie loved her Irish ancestry and often visited Ireland. She and Dennis had the great fortune to make six trips to the Emerald Isle. They made dear friends and enjoyed memorable adventures along the way. As a lifelong cat lover, Jeannie gave all of their cats Irish names!
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents and husband Dennis. She is survived by her three children, her sister, three Treacy nieces, one nephew and their families, and several in-law brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins in the Trudeau family.
Jeannie was a beautiful and caring soul and a great conversationalist. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, the interest she took in everyone around her, and her ability to make people feel welcome. Time spent with Jeannie was a pleasure and she will truly be missed.

There will be a Funeral Mass in Jeannie's memory at 10 am, October 5th at the Carmel Mission. Donations in Jeanne's name would be greatly appreciated by Interim, Inc., P.O. Box 3222, Monterey, CA. 93942. Interim, Inc. provides housing, social support and education to those with psychiatric disabilities.
