Jeffrey Edward Taylor, age 61, passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on December 29, 2020. He was born in Salinas, California to Edward Horton Taylor and Joanne Church Taylor. He graduated from Salinas High School and went on to graduate from Fresno State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business. He worked in the family business for years before branching out to start his own businesses, leading him to become a rancher and developer of a Carmel Valley ranch he owned with his wife.
Jeff's free spirit and compassionate heart for humanity encouraged him to follow in his mother's footsteps of serving others. He was a huge force for good not only in the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula, but communities in need across the U.S. as well. His strong faith in God led him to step out of the box and experience a journey of life that was filled with kindness as he acted on what he believed. His passion was helping others and serving with an open heart.
Jeff's priority in life was his beloved wife and family. He lived life to the fullest and loved to travel. Family time and good memories are wrapped around trips to Lake Tahoe, The Caves and the family ranches where you could often find him snow or water skiing, hiking, biking or on horseback. He was a great husband and father and his children's biggest supporter. He always had a positive attitude and was blessed by friends who could count on him for anything. He loved and welcomed all with his whole heart and it showed in the outpouring of love and support his family received in the month leading up to his passing.
Jeff was happiest outdoors. He loved working the land, adventuring with family and friends and worshiping God with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. He is survived by his mother, Joanne Taylor, brothers Steve and Bruce Taylor, sister Carrie Taylor, wife Paula Taylor and children Morgan, Brett and Garrett Taylor. He will be deeply missed by the thousands of lives he touched.
Memorial Mass will be held 11:00a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22 Stone Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.
A celebration of life ( party) will be held in the Spring of 2021 at the Gabilan Ranch in Salinas Valley.
Donation can be make to Young Life Salinas Valley, 325 Lang Street, Salinas, Ca. 93901

To the family of Jeff Taylor: On behalf of Agnes Tebo, my cousin, I wish sincere condolences to the family of Jeff Taylor. I was so sadden to learn of Jeff's death. My Cousin Agnes always spoke lovingly of Joanne Taylor and her family. There were always many photographs of the Taylor family on Agnes' kitchen cork board. Jeff nominated Agnes for a community award through the Rotary Club years ago. My parents and I attended the award dinner. That was the first time I met Jeff and he was very impressive in his cordiality and care for his community. Jeff was also supportive to me when my Cousin Agnes passed away in 2014.
