Joseph Di Rocco Obituary
~ 2011 ~
MONTEREY - Joseph Di Rocco, 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rose Di Rocco (nee Napoli); three sons, Joseph Anthony, Vincent (Angie) and Anthony Paul (Cecilia); and two grandchildren, Joseph Elijah and Sara Jerusalem. In Sicily, he leaves his brother, Lino (Maria) and sister, Rosa (Salvatore) Barberi. He was preceded in death by younger brother, Anthony of Sicily and loyal canine companion, Sheba.
"Tailoring By Joseph" opened its doors on Pearl Street in 1969, moving to Calle Principal in 1973 and finally to Carmel's Crossroads Shopping Center in 1993. As a Master Italian Tailor, Joseph lovingly opened his doors to clients until 2006, when he retired. Joseph was a member of the Compari Club and the Monterey Elks Lodge.
Visitation will be held at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 4:00-7:00pm with vigil to follow. Services will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10:00am at Carmel Presbyterian Church, corner of Ocean and Junipero in Carmel. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to E3 Partners Ministry, in memory of Joseph Di Rocco for the Italy Initiative, 2001 W. Plano Parkway, Suite 2600, Plano, TX 75075; or Samaritan's Purse, Attn: Donor Ministries, in memory of Joseph Di Rocco, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
