Patsy Cole Obituary

Patsy Glennese Cole
July 16, 1926 ~ May 26, 2011

MARINA - Patsy Glennese Cole, 84, passed away May 26, 2011. She was born in Toccoa, Georgia, the youngest of nine children.
Her pride in life was in her accomplishments with and commitment to her family. She met the love of her life, Guy Cole, U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne, at the age of 16 while serving ice cream at a local ice cream parlor. It was a love that sustained them through their 57 years of marriage.
The values she instilled in her children were based in her small town upbringing and her strong Christian faith that was unshakeable. One of her proudest moments came recently when she was finally baptized into her faith at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Cole; father, William Whitehead; mother, Texanna Hunter Whitehead; brothers, Mack, Grant, Bobby and George Whitehead; and her sisters, Lois Williams, Mamie Cash, Florence Whitehead and Mary Higginbotham, all of Toccoa, Georgia.
She is survived by her son, Roger and son, Ron and his wife, Tina. She has four grandchildren: Joshua, Sean, Chad, and Brandy whom she loved unconditionally and who loved her in kind; and one great grandchild, Olivia.
She often said "I am so lucky to have so many good friends". Her friends filled her afternoons, enjoying each other's company, watching television, eating snacks, drinking coffee and occasionally bringing a meal to complete her day.
She lived a full life, and her strength in the face of adversity was an example that her friends and family admired and are thankful they had the opportunity to know her.
Visitation is Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Chapel at Mission Memorial Park at 1925 Ord Grove Ave. in Seaside. A brief Service will be held at the Chapel Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2:00pm before interment. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Comprehensive Cancer Center. https://donations.chomp.org or call (831) 625-4506.

We all loved Glennese and will miss her. She was wonderful and funny all in a package with a touch of sass! We'll meet again.

My deepest sympathy to the Coles. I just know Glennese and Mom are "keeping their eye" on Wade Park. Glennese was one of the girls we love her and had great talks. I always felt welcome at their home and if I was out walking she'd come out to see me. She was our piece to "South" in Marina! God bless you guys you have a wonderful mom and gramma and she will be with you always.

Hi Ronnie, Tina, Roger and family. I'm glad you have this site. It's a great way to express our thoughts. I'll pass it along to Mama and the cousins. Thanks so much for this. Bobbie also worked at the soda shop dishing up ice cream and goodies to the soldiers. I'd liked to have seen them back then! I bet they had some good laughs. We loved Glenese. She was so much fun to be with and she was warm and wonderful to talk with about most anything. Mama and I cherish the memories of the times we visited. We will never forget the fun we had with all of you. We'll be praying for you, especially in the coming days. Love and prayers, Deb

To the Cole family: I met your mom several years ago when we went to visit your dad. My dad was Don Vierra and your mom was so friendly to the both of us. I recently lost my mom and so I know that your mom, dad and my mom and dad are in heaven looking down on us. May your memories help you through these times.
