Renata Fedran, a charming and well-educated woman, was born in Padua, Italy on December 20, 1922. Renata met her future husband Gregory and followed him to Monterey, CA, where he was a Slovenian language teacher at the Defense Language Institute. They were married at St. Angela's Church in Pacific Grove, CA. Renata also worked at DLI and was an exemplary Italian language teacher for many years. Renata was well liked by everyone who had contact with her. Many of her students kept in touch with her, even after her retirement. Renata loved her Catholic faith and was a parishioner at the Carmel Mission Basilica. Renata was preceded in death by her husband Gregory Fedran. She is survived by her niece Annalisa Vincenti and her nephew Umberto Vincenti of Padua. Renata is laid to rest at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery in Monterey, California. A graveside service was held on May 27, 2015.
