Resident of Monterey
William (Bill) Bryant Gragg, 80, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at his home in Monterey following a brief illness.
He leaves his wife of 16 years, Fatima B Gragg; his sons, William Jr. and John, his daughters, Debbie, Kelly and Sarah; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grand children and many other family members and friends.
Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, the son of William F. Gragg and Neva Washburn. He lived in many places in the United States, but settled in Monterey, CA.
Mr. Gragg was Emeritus Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Naval Post Graduate School. He had made fundamental contributions in numerical analysis, particularly the areas of numerical linear algebra and numerical methods for ordinary differential equations. He received his Master's Degree from Stanford and his Ph.D. from UCLA in Math.
A funeral service & burial will be held on December the 28th in the Monterey Cemetery at 2pm.
