Clarence Lucas Obituary
Lowndesboro - Clarence O. Lucas, 83, a Lowndesboro resident, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Visitation will be held at Hayneville Baptist Church from 9:30-10:45 am on Friday, July 13, 2018, followed by his Celebration of Life Service at 11 am, with Rev. Paul Lucas and Rev. Andy Hepburn officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery. Preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Lucas Shaw, survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Paul Lucas (Tracy), Nancy Lowery (Duane), Sherry Gray (Ben), Michele Lott (Glynn), & Anneta Pritchard (Derek); sister, Rita Stewart (Flash); brother, Billy Lucas (Babs); brother-in-law, A.D. Shaw; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Deacons at Hayneville Baptist Church. Also a Deacon at Hayneville Baptist Church, Mr. Lucas was a loving husband, father, grand-father, and great-grandfather, and brother. Always present with a laugh and a smile, he was well-loved by everyone he met. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Hayneville Baptist Church Kitchen Fund. Some men leave their mark on the world by the way they live and the difference they make in the lives they touch. Clarence was one of those men, a God-fearing fine Christain man who was not afraid to testify for his Lord and even moreso to put his testimony into action by the way he lived. Dedicated to his beautiful wife and loving family members, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he dearly loved, he was loved by all. He was known for speaking his mind, and for this he sometimes met opposition, but we all knew this was just Clarence--the man who loved all and touched so many lives-- the man we all dearly loved and will forever live on in our hearts. Personally, he was one of several men at HBC who had such an inspirational influence on my husband and for that I will forever be grateful. I, personally, will miss you, sweet man, and there will be a huge void in our HBC family.
