DOLAN A. FANNIN Sr.

Dolan A. FANNIN, Sr., 72,went to be with the Lordon July 28, 2007. He wasborn in Tallassee on July 17,1935, the son of William Thomas Fannin and Merdie H. Fannin. He was married for 37years to Betty Ann Morris ofCharleston, SC. He served asa fireman in the U. S. Air Forcefor 20 years. He was activeduring the Korean Conflictand the Viet Nam War. He retired as a SSGT. He loved hiscountry and was very proudof his military service. He alsoretired from Neptune WaterMeter Company after 22years. He was a Master Mason at Penic Lodge 161 and amember of Calvary BaptistChurch. His favorite pastimewas the self-study of the WarBetween the States. He wasan avid reader of the era. Hewas a good father to his fourchildren, Dolan, Jr., Lynda,Elizabeth and Richard. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 31, 2007 atCalvary Baptist Church withPastor Jim Voss and PastorDon Stephens officiating. Hewill lie-in-state at the churchone hour prior to services. Hewill be laid to rest beside hiswife in Rose Hill Cemetery .Heis preceded in death by hisloving wife of 37 years, Betty;father and mother, Williamand Merdie Fannin; brothers,Virgil, Carl, Lamar and Douglas; and sisters, Christine F.Curlee and Melba Reynolds.He is survived by hischildren, Dolan A. (Jym) Fannin, Jr., Lynda (John) Pounds,Elizabeth (Rex) Floyd, Richard(Carrie) Fannin; grandchildren, John (Erin) Fannin, Jessica Fannin, Amy Steele, Andrew Steele, Kelly (Jake) Youland, Jamie Floyd, HayleyFannin; sister, Florence Jones;very special friend, NadineKnight and several niecesand nephews. The family will receive friendson Monday, July 30, 2007from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home. Inlieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Calvary Baptist Church, 293 N.
