Father, I come to you today as I remember and honor Uncle Bubba who has gone on ahead. I pray that you would surround his family with your comfort and peace this day on the anniversary of his death. Sharing a memory of Fred Briers, Jr. is tantamount to unfolding a leaf from the book of my own life story. Meeting Fred when he was eleven years old and I was 10 years was the beginning of special events and occurrences in our lives. While living in the same neighborhood block as I, I found Fred to be a doer and an achiever. He made his mark in a quiet manner by helping others to accomplish goals. Our friendship was made more lasting with more in common because his and my father were friends and Railroad men co-workers for more than forty years. Fred (Bubba) Briers, Jr. was a very special person. Rest well, my friend!! CVJ.

My sincere condolences to the Briers family. Fred or (Bubba, as we always knew him), will be sorely missed by his family, his friends and his Parish members. Fred always gave every bit of energy he had to family and community projects, which he endorsed. I never knew him to give up on a project in which he was involved until it was successfully completed. May God give him rest and his family peace.
