JAMES McAHREN Obituary

James A. McAhren, 95, of Panama City, FL passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at a local hospital. Mr. McAhren retired from Maxwell AFB after 29 years in Federal service. He served in the US Army Medical Corps during WWII, and was a member of the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ, Panama City, FL.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson of Panama City; his children, Janice Jakabelski and husband Joe of St. Peters, MO, Wayne McAhren and wife Patti of Mobile, AL, Barbara Bloom of Framingham, MA, Cynthia Cutter and husband Edward and Ramona Smith and husband Joe, all of Montgomery, AL; a sister, Mae Smith of Inverness, FL; 3 grandchildren, Joey and Laura Diane Jakabelski and Stephanie Smith; and his great-grandchildren, Evan, Drew, and Luke.

Graveside services for Mr. McAhren will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL at a later date.
