JANE ALFONSO Obituary

ALFONSO, Jane Oliver McKinney, 78, passed away peacefully at home with her lovingdaughters on April 6, 2010.She was born on June 13,1931 in Corning, AR to Williamand Augusta Oliver. In 1951she married James H. Archerand traveled around theworld with him as an Armyspouse, living in 8 differentstates and Europe. They had4 daughters during their 23year marriage and 8 grandchildren. Her second marriage of 20 years to Albert F.Alfonso took place in Hawaiiwhere Jane had a rewardingcareer as a nurse. Her favorite patients were new momsand babies. While living inHawaii she was diagnosedwith cancer and moved toMontgomery, AL for treatmentand to be closer to her children. She was blessed with10 more years of good healthand gave much back to thecommunity. She enjoyed herfamily, her dachshund Dumplin, and her Sutton Placeneighbors. Jane was an active member of WhitfieldMethodist Church and was aMeals on Wheels volunteer.She was preceded in deathby her parents, her husbands,her sister Lillian (David) Burleson, her daughter SusanDowning and her granddaughter Carli Diaz. She issurvived by her brother William (Trudye) Oliver of Paragould, AR; her daughters Melissa (John) Van Valkenburghof Windermere, FL; Laura(Glenn) Saucer of Montgomery, AL; and Jane (David)Miller of Lompoc, CA and herson in law James Downing.Jane's grandchildren includeBen and Rachael Saucer,Mandy and Sarah Van Valkenburgh, and James, Matthew and Laura Miller. In lieuof flowers, the family wouldlike memorial donationsmade to Whitfield MethodistChurch, Meals on Wheels,Jackson Hospital, Vista CareHospice, or an animal shelterof your choice. A memorialwill be planned at WhitfieldMethodist Church in Junewhen the family can gatherto celebrate her life. White Chapel-GreenwoodDirecting
