STRASSBURGER, Julien M.(Sonny), 79, passed awaySaturday, June 19, 2010.Funeral services will be heldon Tuesday, June 22, at 11:00a.m., at Temple Beth Or, withRabbi Eliot Stevens officiating.The family will receive visitorsat 10:00 a.m. in the Temple Library. He is survived by hisbeloved wife of 55 years, Joyce Sandler Strassburger, hischildren, Karen S. Goldstein (Craig), Sandy Strassburger(Brenda), grandchildren, Kimberly, Kevin, and CarolineGoldstein, and Maggie andPolly Strassburger, brothers-in-law, Ed Simon and NathanSandler (Marilyn). Sonny waspreceded in death by his parents, Caroline and FlorianStrassburger, sister Pat S. Simon, and children, Kimberlyand Herbert. He graduatedfrom the University of Alabama, where he played on thegolf team. Sonny's love ofsports, especially Alabamafootball, was well known. Healso was well known in the60s and early 70s as a T.V.sportscaster and as the voiceof the Sidney Lanier Poetsand the Jefferson Davis Volunteers. He had a successfulcareer in T.V. advertising,where he made lifelongfriends. He was known for hiskind heart and gentle wayand was dearly loved by hisfamily and many friends. Wesay ""Farewell"" to ""Honey,"" ashe was known to many.
