She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 53 years, whereshe was the Sunday Schoolteacher for the Ann Love Sunday School class. Mrs. Hilyerwas involved with numerousCivic Clubs and Cultured Organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents W.B. and Mamie Rawlins;one brother, Wilbur B. Rawlins, Jr. and one sister, MildredR. Pettis. She is survived by herhusband of 57 years, Mr.Leon Hilyer; two daughtersAmy Gaskin (Jimmy), andLeigh Isball (Hal); five grandchildren, Emily Gaskin, BeaGaskin, Christi Isball, Hal Isballand Hilyer Isball.
