Patrick Childress Obituary
Childress, Mr. Patrick Ruddy, age 63, a resident of Deatsville,Al passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016, 2 pm at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kenny Rhodes and Rev. Mike Mozingo officiating. Mr. Childress served with the Prattville Fire Department and then served and retired from Montgomery Fire Department, he was a contracted fire fighter in Iraq at the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Angela Childress of Deatsville, AL; daughter, Brittany Childress of Deatsville, AL; sons, Ryan ( Katie ) Childress of Deatsville, AL; and Alex ( Kayla ) Childress of Prattville, AL; sister, Lucy Blake of Calera , AL; brother, Tommy Childress of Calera, AL; like a son, David ( Amanda ) Fail of Deatsville, AL; grandchildren, Adeline Rose Childress and Noah Gaines Childress of Deatsville, AL; and Lexie Ariana Childress of Prattville, AL; Serving as pallbearers will be the Fire Department. In lieu of flowers family request memorial to The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation 9/11 fund, www.firehero.org. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 28, 2016, 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home. Brookside Funeral Home of Millbrook, AL directing.

I was so sorry to hear about your loss and can't imagine what you are going through at this time of great sadness. I had just met and worked with Patrick for only a couple months here. He always had a kind word, and was a great guy to work with. I will miss him. My prayers go out to his family who he was always talking about and was proud of.

I knew Pat briefly in 1971-72 Calera while I was enrolled at the University of Montevallo. He loved watching WWF on television and was a pretty good artist, too. He had such a sweet spirit. Our lives intersected again when he married Angela, a long time family friend from Jackson. Our family sends prayers and comfort to Angela and the family.
