Tomeka Russell Obituary
RUSSELL, Dr. Tomeka Danielle, a resident of Prattville, AL departed this life on Thurs., Apr. 13, 2017. Dr. Russell leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband of 16 years, Dr. Albert E. Russell, two amazing children, Donovan (13) and Genesis (11), mother, Evangelist Vanessa Gail Hutchinson, father, Mr. Elroy Swails,mother-in-law, Mrs. Bernice C. Russell, four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, church members and patients. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sat. Apr. 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Freewill Baptist Church, 1724 Hill St. Montg, AL, Rev. E.J. Nettles, pastor and her husband Dr. Albert E. Russell officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Prattville Memorial Cemetery with the staff of Phillips-Riley Funeral Home directing. Dr. Russell remains will ONLY be viewed at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.

I just found out that Doctor Russell pass last year. I'm so sorry. She was the best as a person and doctor. She help me alot I never found another one like her.Thank God no more sickness no more pain.She will be an is miss.

Dr. Russell was my Dr. for several years. The way she treated me I felt we were dear friends. She truly deeply cared and I don't think I would be alive today if it weren't for her wonderful care and concern. She sought God's wisdom in everything she did. She prayed with me, talked about my physical and spiritual health. She talked about her family a lot and shared things about them. She was the most compassionate, loving and kind person who genuinely cared and served her God, her family, her staff and her patients. She fought valiantly and now she is in the presence of our Lord. For the Russell family I can't imagine how much you miss your amazing wife, mother, daughter etc. live as she would want you to knowing you will see her again. With much Love, Kathy Moore

Dr. Russell saved my life with her loving spirit and healing hands. It is because of her that I was able to start a new life here in Tacoma, Washington. She truly was an angel, who has now received her wings in glory. While, I am grieving, along with many, many others, I know to be absent from the body means she is present with the Lord. And for that, I praise Jesus for his grace and mercy.

Our family was blessed when Dr. Russell was assigned to our medical team at Maxwell. Needless to say when she left there we were happy to follow her to her private practice. She was a beautiful "earth" angel and now she is a beautiful "heavenly" angel. We will never forget her warm, caring and compassionate spirit and definitely not that contagious smile.
