Edward A. McGovern

Edward McGovern McGovern, Edward A., 82, of Sea Isle City, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Born in Rockledge, PA to the late Charles and Agnes (McHoul) McGovern, he moved here year round in 2000 from Glenside, PA after summering here since 1976. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was the owner of U.S. Veal Corp in Philadelphia. Mr. McGovern was a member of St. Joseph Church in Sea Isle City, the North Hills Country Club, the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City, the Wildwood Golf and Country Club, the Italian American Club, and the 24th Ward of the United Republican Club. He enjoyed playing golf and being with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. McGovern is survived by his wife, Rose (nee Russo) McGovern; his daughter, Caroline (John) McCarus of Montclair; his son, Edward McGovern of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his sister, Dorothy Blob of Haddonfield; his grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Alexa, and Audrey; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be said on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 44th Street and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City. Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
