Janis R. O'Hara

Janis R. O’Hara of Dresher Janis Ruth O’Hara (nee Detwiler) of Dresher, 67, died Monday, May 25, 2015. Janis died peacefully in the early morning. She is celebrated for her humor, her wit, her love for nature and all things Disney. Janis and her grandson “Mikey” spent many hours planning the next adventure. Janis was born and raised in Springfield Township, Montgomery County. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1965, meeting her future husband Patrick in the years following. Shortly thereafter, Patrick and Janis settled in Oreland to start their family. The pair had two sons, Brian and then Glenn. The family remained in Springfield for some 20 years, eventually moving to their new home in Upper Dublin in 1989. Janis worked at Safeguard in Fort Washington for several years before joining Patrick in their venture, Benefit Processing, Inc. The two cultivated the business over 20 years before Janis (semi) retired in 2011. Janis is survived by her loving husband Patrick M. O’Hara and her two sons, Brian P. (Katherine Jent) and D. Glenn (Vanessa Waldner); her grandsons Christian P. and Michael G.; her great-grandson, Conner P.; her sisters in-law Mary Dudley, Anne Green and Cassie O’Hara; brother in-law Walter Green; her two companion kitties Polka and Dottie. Janis was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Ellen Detwiler and her sister, Diane. Janis will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Christ’s Lutheran Church, 700 Pennsylvania Ave, Oreland, PA 19075 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and services beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Janis R.
