Robert Lee Riffle Sr., 81, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 22, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Harvey Everett Riffle and Genevieve Buckalew Riffle.
Robert was a member of Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville, and retired from the auto racing industry. He enjoyed gardening and racing, and loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Jean Clark.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Lucy Conroy Riffle of the home; sons, Robert Lee Riffle II of Amelia Island, Fla., and Andrew Everett Riffle and wife, Heather, of Mooresville; daughters, Teresa Eileen Foster of Davidson, Anna Adele Bunk and husband, Benson, of Mooresville, Lucy Louise Gibbons and husband, Travis, of Mooresville, and Mary Lea Kinsey and husband, Lee, of Troutman; brother, Harvey Everett Riffle and wife, Carolyn, of Sebring, Fla.; sister, Mary Lou Jackson of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Grace, Zack, Isaac, Julia, Joseph, Tristan, Tyler, Cooper, Lily, and Colby; and many in-laws who he considered as true family.
A celebration of life to celebrate Robert's life will be held at a later date.
